In 2020 I entered my college's poetry competition and there were just 14 participants, while debate had hundreds and big prize pools. I wondered if people didn't care about poetry, or just had no reason to show up. So the next year I ran the poetry competition at Varanasi Wordfest. I announced a ₹10,000 prize pool before I had the money, added a paid entry fee, gave discounts to colleges bringing 10+ people, and brought in professional poets to host. Around 100 people registered — over 7x the year before, and close to debate, even though debate was free.

Given to one student per year at IIT (BHU). Gymkhana post

I was the 3rd candidate overall to get the Feather Grant out of 1,500 candidates, and the only associate to get it.
